I had heard about a large swimming pool complex that opened up back in October out near Malta lake and decided to go find that place and look into whether I would want to go swimming there sometime. So I hopped onto jakdojade (http://poznan.jakdojade.pl/, it's a great web site) and figured out that if I hopped onto the #6 tram, I could ride it all the way out to the far end of the lake and then walk back home.
It was a nice walk and I grabbed a few pictures along the way.
So I rode out to the Krańcowa stop, walked south to the edge of Malta lake (which is small), and started walking back towards home looking for the pools. I found the pools quickly and will definitely go back some time. It's a huge building complex that has two "sports" pools (including a 50 meter pool), a "water park" area with several pools and slides, and a "sauna" area that has 16 different sauna's in it.
A small area of the swimming pools complex. No pictures from inside. |
After visiting the pools complex and figuring out I wanted to come back, I headed to the path around the lake. At the edge of Malta lake I looked across the lake and saw this:
Yes, that is a small ski slope that is right in town.
After seeing a bunch of other people doing it, I decided to actually walk across the frozen lake to get to the Malta shopping mall, which is one of the two shopping malls I normally go to, and which was on the way home. You can see some of the paths people took in this picture.
At Malta I grabbed some swimming goggles at the sporting goods store (planning ahead), and took a quick picture of the main atrium in Malta.
As you can see, the Malta mall has 3 levels. |
The Warta river and one shore. |
So that was my chance to head outside and enjoy the warmer (somewhat) weather today.
Have a wonderful day!
