Great Train Journey - Nuremberg: Part 3 (8 pics)

This will be my last post on Nuremberg, and I'm just going to show some pictures of some of the interesting things I saw (that aren't churches, castles, or similar old buildings).  :)

The picture below is from The Way of Human Rights, which is an outdoor sculpture between different parts of the German National Museum.  There are 30 pillars in total, with each being inscribed with one article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in German and one other language.

This is part of a wooden tower (only about 25 feet tall) that is apparently prominently lit up during the Christmas market.  Unfortunately, the bottom part was surrounded by a chain link fence.  So i decided to try and show some of the detail of the decorations.  Don't forget to click the image to see a larger version.

Among the stranger things I saw in Nuremberg are some bizarre (to me) sculptural fountains.  I'm guessing they refer to folk tales of some sort, but I have no idea what.  This is one of them.

This is another.

More details of the second fountain.

And more detail from the opposite side.

Being from California, I found a cafe/bar called "California" to be kind of funny.  Especially since when I looked at the menu it seemed they served every type of food they thought you could find in California.  There was classic American burgers, Mexican (or CalMex) food, and California-derived Asian cuisine as well.  I also saw bar called Santa Monica or something like that, but didn't bother to grab a picture.

And lastly, I saw this truck and just had to laugh.  It was like someone picked up the vehicle of what I would call a "rich redneck" from California, Texas, or somewhere similar, and plopped it down in Germany.  I actually laughed out loud when I saw it because it just seemed so out of place to see this giant pickup on the small, ancient streets of old Nuremberg.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the pictures!
